We are Australia’s only charity for people living with hydrocephalus
Formed as a volunteer association in 1997, HSA is the only charity in Australia focused on empowering the Australian hydrocephalus community, enabling inclusion, informed experiences and improved health pathways through connection, advocacy, education and promoting research.
What is hydrocephalus?
Hydrocephalus is a chronic, neurological condition where cerebrospinal fluid (CSF) accumulates and builds up in the brain. Every year in Australasia, 1 in 500 children are born with hydrocephalus and many more adults and children acquire this condition. It’s incurable and Hydro Warriors will require multiple brain surgeries throughout their life.
